Free software developed since 1985 by ECLAC's CELADE, Population Division.

Redatam processes microdata from censuses, surveys and administrative records on hierarchical geographic structures. It produces statistics for any area in the database — from national level down to the census block.

It is the reference tool for national statistics institutes, ministries and research centers. It empowers institutions to democratize access to information while always preserving data confidentiality.

Promover e integrar de forma creativa las fuentes de información disponibles en una sola plataforma.

Gestionamos, organizamos y coordinamos el uso, mejoramiento, desarrollo y capacitación constante del software Redatam en sus diferentes módulos y funcionalidades, principalmente para los censos de población de los países de América Latina y el Caribe.

Convertirnos en el referente líder en el uso y análisis de microdatos a través de Redatam.

Basados en nuestra experiencia y conocimientos, apoyamos y democratizamos el acceso a la información para la toma de decisiones informadas. Apuntamos también a la armonización de preguntas y la estandarización de variables entre censos, para lograr una mayor comparabilidad entre países.

Four decades of evolution

Redatam timeline

Since 1985, seven generations of software accompanying censuses and statistics in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  1. 1985

    REDATAM

    1st generation · MS-DOS

    First version of the software, able to process a single region and one data source at a time.

  2. 1989

    REDATAM-Plus

    2nd generation · MS-DOS

    Combined multiple data sources in hierarchical structure, multisectoral databases and pcARC/INFO export.

  3. 1997

    winR+

    3rd generation · MS-Windows

    Major leap: REDATAM-Plus for Windows, able to process complete databases with a graphical interface.

  4. 2001

    RedatamG4

    4th generation · Windows

    Adapted for users of varying skill levels. Introduction of Redatam Webserver for online processing.

  5. 2003

    Redatam+SP

    5th generation · Windows + Web

    Greater efficiency and speed. Named after Serge Poulard, principal architect of this generation.

    Redatam7

    6th generation · Windows

    Improvements to Create, Process, Admin modules and web dissemination. XML standard export and faster processing.
